Tickets are now on sale for the 44th Ale Kino! International Young Audience Film Festival, which returns to Poznań from 22nd to 29th November. This year's programme brings together 120 films from 34 countries, with more than 130 screenings planned across the city.
The full programme is now available online, giving audiences the opportunity to plan their festival visits and choose from an international selection of feature films, animation and documentaries.
Although Ale Kino! is primarily dedicated to younger audiences, its programme covers a wide range of subjects and age groups, making it an interesting fixture in Poznań's cultural calendar for families and adult film enthusiasts alike.
Growing up, first love and the pull of nostalgia
Nostalgia is one of the prominent themes running through this year's programme. Other films explore growing up, first relationships, mental health and the sometimes complicated dynamics between different generations.
Rather than presenting young characters as perfect role models, the festival's selection focuses on people who make mistakes, face difficult decisions and gradually find their place in the world. It is an approach that reflects the realities of growing up, away from the carefully curated images often seen on social media.
Two productions addressing these themes are Everyone's Sorry Nowadays, directed by Frederike Migom, and Too Old for Fairy Tales 3, directed by Kristoffer Rus. Both will compete for the Golden Goats, the festival's main awards, and their filmmakers are expected to attend the event.

A summer-inspired opening in November
This year's festival will open with the Swiss film Splish Splash Forever!, a warm-hearted story about friendship, community action and children's ability to make a difference.
When the swimming pool loved by a young girl named Pola is threatened with closure, she decides to do something about it, bringing other children together to help save it.
The organisers are also encouraging audiences to bring small beach-themed accessories to the opening screening, adding a little summer atmosphere to a November day in Poznań.

Jarosław Boberek to receive the Platinum Goats
Polish dubbing will also have its moment in the spotlight. The festival will screen Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, the popular comedy featuring the voice work of Jarosław Boberek, who voiced several characters in the Polish version.
Boberek will attend the festival to receive the Platinum Goats, an award recognising his contribution to cinema for young audiences.
Known for his extensive work in Polish dubbing, he has helped bring numerous animated and live-action characters to life for generations of viewers. The screening and award presentation offer an opportunity to celebrate an important part of Poland's film and entertainment culture.

Watching Ale Kino! in English
For Poznań's international community, the language information accompanying individual screenings is particularly useful.
Many films are either originally in English with Polish subtitles or are presented with English subtitles. The English-language version of the official Ale Kino! website allows visitors to check the language options in each film's description before choosing a screening.
Age recommendations are also provided for every film, indicating the suggested minimum age for viewers. This makes it easier for parents to select appropriate films for children and for audiences to find productions suited to their interests.
The festival's international programme is a good opportunity to discover cinema from countries and filmmaking traditions that may not otherwise feature regularly in local cinemas.
Tickets and the festival programme
Tickets went on sale yesterday, on 5th November, with each screening requiring a separate ticket purchased through Bilety24. Prices are relatively accessible, although some screenings have already sold out, so it is worth checking availability before making plans.
The complete programme, screening times, film descriptions, accessibility and language information are available on the official Ale Kino! website. Visitors can switch to the English version of the site to check details before booking.
The 44th Ale Kino! Festival takes place in Poznań from 22nd to 29th November 2026. With 120 films representing 34 countries, this year's edition offers a varied programme of international cinema, familiar favourites and new stories for younger audiences.
