If you’re in Poznań this August, make room in your calendar for something truly joyful: Creative Saturdays with Estrada Poznańska! On three summer Saturdays — August 9, 16, and 23 — families are invited to join free open-air workshops designed for all ages. With creative activities, Latin dance classes, and a toddler zone for the youngest participants, these events promise fun, learning, and intergenerational bonding in the heart of the city.
A City Centre Celebration of Creativity
The workshops take place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the open-air space at ul. Jana Baptysty Quadro, just steps away from the Stary Rynek. Every edition of Creative Saturdays with Estrada Poznańska features a unique artistic theme, Latin dance workshops for all ages, and engaging attractions like face painting and hair braiding.
At the heart of the event is a mission to encourage creativity, intergenerational bonding, and joyful outdoor play — all completely free of charge.

It’s nostalgic, rebellious, and deeply human.

Saturday, August 16
Theme: Mini Gardens in a Jar
- 1:00–3:00 PM: Terrarium Workshop (Ages 5–12): In this creative gardening activity, children will build miniature ecosystems in jars. Along the way, they’ll learn about plant care, ecosystems, and how to turn nature into a living decoration.

- 3:00–5:00 PM: Latin Dance Block – Zumba, Salsa, Bachata. With cheerful rhythms and easy steps, this dance session is perfect for families to unwind and have fun together, under the open sky.

Theme: Weaving Wall Hangings (Makatki) + Evening highlight: Outdoor screening of “Towards the Sun”
- 1:00–3:00 PM: Weaving Workshop (Ages 6–12): Children will use colourful yarn and cords to weave their own decorative wall hangings. Along the way, they’ll develop fine motor skills, learn patience, and tap into their artistic side.
- 1:00–3:00 PM: Add-On Zone – face painting and braiding
- 3:00–5:00 PM: Latin Dance Block – Zumba, Salsa, Bachata. Close out the Creative Saturdays with Estrada Poznańska series by dancing into the sunset — no experience needed, just a willingness to move and enjoy.

- 9:00 PM: Film screening – “Towards the Sun” (Poland, 2024, 92 min): This moving documentary follows a Polish family who sells everything to travel Europe in a camper van. Their journey is touching, complicated, and refreshingly real — a summer film that families will connect with on many levels.

Toddler Zone at Every Event
All three editions of Creative Saturdays with Estrada Poznańska feature a Toddler Zone (Strefa Malucha), a dedicated space for the youngest participants. This area includes:
- Sensory paths
- Manipulative and motor toys
- Quiet space for resting (especially for parents!)
It’s the perfect spot for families with babies and toddlers to enjoy a slower-paced, open-ended experience.

Part of a Bigger Summer Cultural Adventure
Creative Saturdays are part of Lato z Estradą, a broader cultural initiative under the theme “Journeys Through Culture”, which brings art, music, and storytelling to 19 neighbourhoods around Poznań. The programme celebrates the heritage of regions west of Poznań through theatre, concerts, and hands-on workshops — all free of charge.
At the same time, the city centre is buzzing with Estrada w Centrum, a new summer series hosted on the Old Market Square, Plac Kolegiacki, and Plac Wolności. Visitors can enjoy free concerts, outdoor cinema, and performances throughout August.
