Volunteers, school staff and people responsible for volunteer programmes in Poznań can take part in a series of free workshops and networking meetings this autumn.
The programme covers practical subjects ranging from remote volunteering and fundraising to communication, volunteer motivation and preventing burnout. There is also a small emergency fund available to Poznań non-governmental organisations facing unexpected problems.
The sessions are organised for several different groups, with both online and in-person options available.
Workshops for volunteers
The autumn programme begins with an online session on 29 September, focused on remote volunteering and how to make it effective.
Further workshops will cover communication within organisations, nature-based activities and stress reduction, as well as crowdfunding and fundraising. These ill take place at at the CREO and PCW office, ul. Kutrzeby 16G/124
The volunteer programme includes:
29 September, 16:30-19:30: Działaj zdalnie - pomagaj realnie (Work online - help in real life) (online)
8 October, 16:30-19:30: Organizacja na fali - komunikacja, która działa! (Organisation on the wave - communication that works!)
20 October, 16:30-19:30: Zanurz się w naturze - sztuka, rośliny i sposób na mniej stresu! (Dive into nature - art, plants and tips for less stress!)
28 October, 16:30-19:30: Crowdfunding i fundraising - Twoja mapa do sukcesu! (Your map to success!)
Registration is required for all sessions.
Support for volunteer coordinators
There are also two events aimed specifically at people who coordinate volunteers.
A networking and integration meeting on 21 October will look at the everyday difficulties faced by volunteer coordinators. It will take place from 17:00 to 20:00 at the CREO and PCW office.
On 27 October, another workshop will focus on recognising burnout and looking after the wellbeing of people working with volunteers. This session runs from 16:30 to 19:30.
The meetings offer a chance to exchange experiences with others involved in volunteer coordination across Poznań.
Sessions for teachers
Schools are also included in the autumn programme.
Teachers can join two online workshops covering the practical side of running school volunteering programmes:
1 October, 14:00-16:15: Promocja szkolnego wolontariatu (Promoting school volunteering)
20 October, 12:30-14:45: Komunikacja, motywacja i docenianie szkolnych wolontariuszy i wolontariuszek (Communication, motivation and appreciating school volunteers)
Both sessions require registration.
Emergency funding for Poznań NGOs
Alongside the training programme, a dedicated PLN 10,000 annual emergency fund is available to Poznań non-governmental organisations dealing with unexpected crisis situations.
The money can be used for urgent purchases, services and repairs that are necessary for an organisation to continue its work.
Eligible NGOs can apply for up to PLN 2,500 on a one-off basis.
For smaller organisations, particularly those working with limited reserves, this type of support can help address an immediate practical problem without bringing a project or service to a halt.
A busy autumn for Poznań's voluntary sector
Taken together, the programme covers several parts of the local volunteering landscape, from people taking their first steps as volunteers to experienced coordinators and teachers running school-based initiatives.
