In a remarkable initiative called Leaders School Program (Szkoła Liderek i Liderów – SLL), aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world business acumen, representatives from Amica Group, a leading European home appliance manufacturer, recently conducted a series of lectures and workshops for students of the Poznań University of Economics and Business (UEP). This event was designed to enhance students’ professional competencies through practical, hands-on learning experiences.
Leaders School: An Innovative Approach to Business Education
The Leaders School Program is a seven-month journey that immerses students of Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Poznaniu (UEP) in the practicalities of the business world. Developed in collaboration with prominent companies from the UEP Partner Club, this initiative aims to equip future leaders with essential skills and insights. The program includes 50 hours of workshops, both in-person and online, led by seasoned industry practitioners and academic experts. Students also benefit from seven study visits to various enterprises and the opportunity to work on a business project in small teams.
This year’s edition, running from late April to late September 2024, is packed with a diverse range of topics, including short supply chains, business relationships, and the role of analytics in IT projects. The program’s dynamic format ensures that students gain a well-rounded understanding of different business aspects, from management to compliance and marketing.

Amica’s Role: Bringing Real-World Insights to the Classroom
As a key partner in the Leaders School Program, Amica Group brought a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to the table. During the sessions, Eliza Orepiuk-Szymura, PR Manager, and Zdzisław Wiese from the marketing department, shared invaluable insights into Amica’s business model and operations. Their presentations highlighted the company’s international footprint and its strategic approach to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. Katarzyna Dawidek, Director of Goods Purchasing, also delivered an engaging lecture on business cooperation with China, focusing on the operations of Amica’s Chinese branch.
These interactions provided students with a unique behind-the-scenes look at how a major corporation functions on a global scale. They learned about the complexities of international trade, marketing strategies, and sustainable business practices, gaining perspectives that are crucial for their future careers.
Amica’s Commitment to Education
Amica Group’s involvement in the SLL program is a continuation of its longstanding collaboration with UEP. The company actively supports business education for students, believing that investing in the development of future managers and economically educated professionals will benefit not only Amica but also the broader Polish economy. One notable aspect of this support is Amica’s sponsorship of free access to the “Puls Biznesu” publication for UEP students and faculty, fostering a well-informed academic community.
We are very proud of our partnership with the Poznań University of Economics and Business and the Leaders School Program. Participating in such initiatives allows us not only to share our experience and knowledge but also to inspire young people to dynamic and responsible action in business. Our commitment to developing students’ professional competencies is an investment in the future that will benefit both the program participants and the entire labour market in Poland.
Said Eliza Orepiuk-Szymura, PR Manager of Amica Group.
Practical Knowledge for a Competitive Edge
The collaboration between UEP and industry leaders like Amica offers students an invaluable opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and understand the realities of their future profession. The interactive format of the SLL program encourages students to engage deeply with the material, ask questions, and apply what they learn in real-world scenarios. This practical focus is particularly evident in the enthusiastic participation of students during Amica’s sessions, where they eagerly explored the intricacies of global brand management and international markets.
Looking Ahead: Building Future Leaders
The Poznań University of Economics and Business consistently ranks among Poland’s top economic universities, preparing its students to become effective managers and directors. Through programs like the Leaders School, UEP ensures that its graduates are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the practical skills needed to excel in the business world.

As the Leaders School Program continues to grow and evolve, it remains a shining example of how academia and industry can collaborate to cultivate the next generation of business leaders. With the ongoing support of dedicated partners like Amica Group, UEP students are well-positioned to make significant contributions to the global economy.
