This upcoming weekend, June 15-16, 2024, Poznań will host a vibrant celebration known as Letni Święty Marcin (Summer at St. Martin Street). The festivities will take place along Święty Marcin Street, transforming it into a lively pedestrian zone filled with various attractions. Here’s what you can expect during this exciting event.
Discover the Heart of Poznań
The organisers of Letni Święty Marcin invite everyone to explore and experience the heartbeat of Poznań. The event promises a mix of historical storytelling and future plans for the iconic street, all set against the backdrop of live concerts, a craft market, children’s activities, and a culinary festival featuring outdoor dining areas. The festivities will occur between Gwarna and Ratajczaka streets, starting at 8:00 AM on Saturday, June 15.
A Glimpse into History
Święty Marcin Street, stretching 1,256 metres, is one of Poznań’s most significant thoroughfares. Named after the settlement surrounding St. Martin’s Church established in the 12th century, it has evolved through centuries, becoming a vital part of the city. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the street gained a monumental character with the construction of prominent buildings such as the Imperial Castle and the University buildings. Today, Święty Marcin is a blend of historic charm and modern vibrancy, making it an ideal venue for cultural celebrations like Letni Święty Marcin.

Fun for the Whole Family
A special highlight for families will be the interactive games and activities spread throughout the event. Among these, “Bąbel Bimba – Kindernalia” stands out, where the historic GT8 tram will be converted into a playful space for children. This unique feature will be stationed near Gwarna Street and will offer a delightful experience for the little ones, making them feel like true explorers as they navigate the tram’s interior.
Craft Market
At the craft market, visitors can purchase a variety of handmade items, including fragrant soy candles, bags, ceramics, hand-painted notebooks, children’s toys, jewellery, and clothing. This market provides an opportunity to support local artisans and find unique, high-quality products that add a personal touch to your home and wardrobe.

Culinary Delights
Food lovers are in for a treat with the culinary market showcasing an array of delicacies. Sample cheeses from across Europe, savour Greek olives, indulge in rich chocolate blocks, and taste local honey. Given that St. Martin is the patron saint of winemakers, there will be numerous stalls from local vineyards, offering a chance to enjoy the best wines from the region. The restaurants along Święty Marcin will also prepare special menus for the occasion, ensuring a delightful culinary journey.
Children’s Activities
Children will be thrilled with the variety of activities planned just for them. From dance animations and face painting to glitter tattoos and magic shows, there’s something for every young attendee. The event also features a LEGO zone, a journalist zone, and a series of puzzles and ciphers to solve, providing an engaging and educational experience for kids of all ages.
