noxnox: Elevating Poznań’s Techno Scene

Share

Pioneering Event for Poznań

The techno scene in Poznań is about to witness a groundbreaking event with the launch of noxnox, a new platform showcasing up-and-coming DJs.

Much like the iconic Boiler Room, noxnox will feature live video recordings of the DJs and the event to introduce the concept to Poznań and the burgeoning community and talented DJs in Poznań and throughout Poland. In the future, live streaming may also become a part of NOXNOX, broadening its reach even further.

A New Journey in Techno Music

noxnox aims to introduce fairly accessible techno to see how the audience responds. If the community grows as hoped, the event will delve into more specific techno genres, opening listeners’ ears to new sounds. The goal is to provide a journey into this fascinating genre, allowing the audience to guide the evolution of the event.

Choosing Poznań for NOXNOX

Anton Lemmens, founder of NOXNOX, shares his excitement about the upcoming event that aims to elevate Poznań’s techno scene.

Anton Lemmens, the founder of noxnox, explained why Poznań was chosen for this inaugural event. “I reside in Poznań, and it has a vibrant scene with numerous talented DJs, techno fans, and clubs. It’s a unique spot between Berlin and Warsaw, and it’s a city that’s growing. Every one of my friends from Belgium comes to Poznań and says it’s an awesome city. It’s a great place to set up an event like this.”

Compared to Belgium or nearby Berlin, Poznań’s scene is still emerging, and it’s thrilling to witness and be part of its growth. The city boasts its own unique vibe in both fashion and music choices. “Poland is carving its own path, influenced by other rave scenes yet distinct in its character. There’s an abundance of talent here—DJs, music producers, and experts in video and lighting,” Anton noted with enthusiasm.

Community Engagement

Local Reception

Before the event, the local community’s reaction has been cautiously optimistic. While some initially saw it as just another techno event, the emphasis on video promotion has piqued interest. The “Boiler Room” style approach, which pushes video content to wider audiences, has been embraced as something unique for Poznań.

Building a Collaborative Community

Anton emphasized the importance of engaging the local community not just as attendees but as active participants.

Over the last 12 months, We’ve been scouting for DJs who will benefit from this type of promotion. This will help DJs become more known locally, nationally, and globally. Video is at the forefront of modern DJ promotion, and we hope to give back to both DJs and fans by promoting the scene and encouraging further participation.

Challenges and Opportunities

Overcoming Initial Hurdles

Organising the first edition of noxnox in Poznań came with challenges. “It’s the first event, and nobody knows us yet, so building trust and a community was crucial,” Anton shared. Despite initial reservations from some quarters, the team persevered and found enthusiastic support from local techno fans and professionals.

Unique Aspects of NOXNOX

The event will start earlier than typical techno events in Poznań, with doors opening at 9 PM and DJ sets beginning at 10 PM. This change was made to accommodate fans who prefer to start their raves earlier. The event will continue into the early hours for those who love to party all night.

Future Prospects

Anton is optimistic about the future of noxnox. “Based on the reaction to this first event, we will adapt and develop our concept. We may consider live streaming the events to allow people from around the world to experience it in real time. It’s an experiment, but we’re hopeful that the community and DJs will help us develop and reach more fans.”
