Poznań will once again become a meeting point for gamers, developers, esports fans and technology enthusiasts this October, as Poznań Game Arena returns to the Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie for its 20th edition.
The anniversary event takes place from 23 to 25 October 2026, marking two decades since PGA first became part of Poznań's event calendar. This year, organisers are promising new projects and experiences alongside the familiar attractions that have made the fair a fixture for gaming fans.
For a city with such a strong tradition of hosting large-scale technology, entertainment and trade events, PGA offers another chance to see the exhibition grounds transformed for a very different kind of weekend.
Twenty years of Poznań Game Arena
The gaming industry in Poland has changed considerably since the first Poznań Game Arena. Over the years, the event has grown alongside the domestic games market, bringing international publishers together with Polish developers and giving independent studios a place to present their work.
The organisers also point to PGA's role in the development of Poland's gaming and esports community, with the event providing a meeting place for players and helping showcase new productions, esports talent and independent creators.
For visitors who have attended PGA over several years, the 20th edition will therefore have an element of looking back as well as looking ahead.

Retro gaming gets a starring role
One of the most nostalgic parts of this year's programme will be the Retro Zone, looking at how gaming hardware and the wider culture around video games have developed across the event's 20 editions.
The zone will be run by Nocne Retro Granie, described by the organisers as a team of retro-gaming specialists. It should offer a different pace from the latest releases and competitive gaming areas, with a chance to revisit older technology and games.
For parents attending PGA with children, it could also provide an easy way to share some of the games and machines that shaped an earlier generation of gamers.
Cosplay, esports and new releases
The traditional mix of attractions will return, including demonstrations and previews of upcoming games and hardware.
The PGA Cosplay Show is also set to receive a special anniversary treatment, while the esports programme will feature tournaments involving international players.
With PGA running across three days, the event is set to bring a large gaming audience into central Poznań during the October school and autumn event season.
The combination of major game and technology presentations, independent developers, esports, cosplay and retro gaming means there should be plenty for both long-time PGA visitors and people discovering the event for the first time.
It is also an event with a distinctly international character. Poznań's position as a major exhibition city makes MTP a natural setting for a gathering that attracts gaming communities and industry participants beyond the city and Poland.
