There are just days left to nominate a volunteer coordinator for the second edition of the Poznańscy Koordynatorzy Wolontariatu competition.
The City of Poznań is looking to recognise adults who organise, support and coordinate the work of volunteers across the city. Applications are open until 21 September 2026, with awards to be presented in five categories.
The competition highlights a role that is often carried out behind the scenes. Volunteer coordinators help people prepare for their activities, provide ongoing support and motivation, organise projects and respond when difficulties arise.
For organisations relying on volunteers, effective coordination can make a significant difference to how people experience volunteering and how successfully individual projects run.
Five categories for Poznań's volunteer coordinators
Candidates can be nominated according to the setting in which they coordinate volunteering:
Educational institution
Academic environment
Non-governmental organisation
Employee volunteering
Municipal organisational unit or municipal cultural institution
The competition is open to adults who coordinate volunteering in Poznań.
The judging will take into account activities carried out from September 2025 up to the date of nomination.
How to nominate a coordinator
A candidate can submit their own nomination or be nominated through the organisation or institution where they coordinate volunteering.
Nominations are submitted using an online application form. Before completing the form, applicants should read the competition regulations.
The deadline is 21 September.
There is no advantage to submitting multiple nominations for the same person. The same candidate may be nominated more than once, but the number of nominations will not affect the competition jury's decision.
A jury connected to Poznań's volunteering sector
Applications will first undergo a formal check by the Department of Health and Social Affairs of the Poznań City Hall.
Eligible nominations will then be considered by the competition jury, whose members include people involved in volunteering, particularly representatives of organisations and other bodies active in this area in Poznań.
The jury will select one winner in each of the five categories. Its decision will be final, with the results kept confidential until the competition's official awards ceremony.
Winners will receive 2,000 zł
Each category winner will receive the title of Poznań Volunteer Coordinator together with a financial prize of 2,000 zł.
The competition is organised by the City of Poznań, with responsibility for its organisation held by the Department of Health and Social Affairs in cooperation with the competition jury.
For Poznań's large network of charities, educational institutions, cultural organisations, businesses and community groups, the competition offers an opportunity to put forward the people who help make volunteering work day to day.
With the deadline approaching, coordinators can nominate themselves, or organisations can recognise the person supporting their volunteers by submitting a nomination before 21 September.
