Poznań’s seasonal skating season gets underway on Saturday, 10th October, when Poznańskie Ośrodki Sportu i Rekreacji (POSiR) opens the ice at Malta and at Hala Sportowa Wilda.
The two rinks give skaters another option for getting on the ice as the colder months arrive, alongside the year-round full-size rink at Chwiałka.
People in Poznań can get their skates sharpened. We are opening two ice rinks that will be available to anyone who wants to enjoy recreational skating. They are a great addition to the year-round full-size rink at Chwiałka. I warmly invite everyone to come along,
says Marcin Gołek, Deputy Mayor of Poznań.
Lodowisko Malta opens for daily skating
The Malta rink is located in a tent beside the start of the Regatta Course, close to the junction of Jana Pawła II and Baraniaka.
It will be open every day from 8 am to 10 pm, with opening hours extended until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The ice is resurfaced during three half-hour breaks each day, at 12.30 pm, 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm.
The rink will also host Ice Party evenings during the season, combining skating with music from a DJ and special lighting on the ice. POSiR has not yet announced the date of the first event.
Wilda rink starts its second season
The ice rink at Hala Sportowa Wilda, ul. o. Mariana Żelazka 1a, is also returning for its second season. It is next to Lodowisko Chwiałka im. Witalisa Ludwiczaka.
On opening day, Saturday 10th October, the rink will welcome skaters from 4 pm. From the following days, it will operate from 7 am to 9.45 pm, Monday to Sunday.
Ice resurfacing breaks at Wilda are scheduled for 10.30 am, 1 pm, 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm.
Ticket prices for the 2026 season
At both seasonal rinks, a 60-minute skating session costs:
16 zł normal / 11 zł reduced on weekdays before 3.30 pm
24 zł normal / 19 zł reduced after 3.30 pm, and at weekends and on public holidays
Skates, helmets and beginner skating aids can be rented at both venues. These include penguin, bear and seal-shaped supports designed to help younger or less confident skaters.
Skate sharpening is available at the Malta Ice Rink. At Hala Sportowa Wilda, the service is available at the neighbouring Chwiałka rink.
Family tickets and OK Poznań
Both venues accept the Karta Dużej Rodziny (Large Family Card) with Poznań's territorial code, as well as dedicated family tickets and season passes.
Holders of OK Poznań can also use promotional 1 zł admissions from their annual allocation for POSiR facilities.
The opening of the two seasonal rinks marks the return of one of the city's more accessible winter activities. With the year-round Chwiałka rink also operating, there are several options for recreational skating across the city as the season starts.
