Visitors to Poznań Palm House will have the opportunity to experience art in an environment unlike any traditional gallery this August, as Jeszcze bardziej DZIKA (Even more WILD) transforms the historic botanical attraction into an immersive exhibition space.
Running from 4 to 31 August 2026, the exhibition presents the latest collection by Polish artist Monika Bartkowiak-Zawadzka, whose expressive paintings are displayed throughout the Palm House among exotic plants, towering palms and tropical greenery. Included with the standard Palm House admission ticket, the exhibition invites visitors to discover how contemporary art can take on new meaning when placed within a living landscape.
A Natural Setting for Expressive Contemporary Art
Following the positive reception of the artist’s earlier exhibition, DZIKA (WILD), this new presentation expands on the idea of bringing painting into a direct conversation with nature.
Rather than viewing artworks in a conventional white-walled gallery, visitors encounter large-scale canvases as they explore the Palm House’s winding paths. The vibrant surroundings become part of the experience, creating moments where painted flora and fauna appear to blend seamlessly with the real tropical environment.
The result is an exhibition that encourages visitors to slow down, look closely and discover new details from different perspectives. Each work reveals layers of movement, emotion and symbolism while the surrounding botanical collections add another dimension to the viewing experience.
About the Artist
Monika Bartkowiak-Zawadzka discovered her passion for art at an early age, holding her first exhibition when she was just 15 years old. Although her professional career later centred on business, she eventually returned to making art, rediscovering the creative path she had first explored as a child.
Today, her work is recognised for its confident use of colour, expressive compositions and distinctive blend of realism and surrealism. Animals and nature frequently appear as recurring themes, while carefully layered textures and bold brushwork create a strong sense of depth and movement.
Her paintings combine vivid colour palettes with subtle tonal contrasts, inviting viewers to connect with the emotions and stories contained within each canvas. The artist’s work has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions in Poland, with paintings now held in private collections both in Poland and internationally.
