Halloween is just around the corner, and with Saturday, 31st October falling tomorrow, Poznań is getting ready for a night of spooky attractions, live music and late-night parties. Whether you're planning an evening out with friends, looking for something to do with the family or simply want to enjoy the Halloween atmosphere around the city, there are several events worth checking out.

From a shelter filled with monsters and eerie installations to R&B classics at Młyńska 12, alternative live music and horror screenings at local cinemas, here's what's happening in Poznań this Halloween weekend.

Here are some events to consider for your Halloween night.

A shelter full of surprises

One of the more unusual Halloween experiences in Poznań takes place underground, at the Schron Pasjonatów Podziemi on ul. Kościelna 50.

Organised by Stowarzyszenie Pasjonaci Podziemi, the annual Halloween event transforms the shelter into a maze of frightening decorations, moving monsters, displays and atmospheric installations. This year's edition promises nearly 30 new decorations compared with last year.

There will also be large-scale outdoor decorations and a dedicated area of surprises. Families visiting earlier in the day can take part in creative activities, making their own Halloween-themed creations to take home. These activities are scheduled until 20:00, or while supplies last.

The experience changes throughout the afternoon and evening:

  • 14:00 - 17:00: The shelter will be fully lit, with quieter sound levels to make the experience more suitable for younger visitors. There will be opportunities to explore, take photographs and enjoy the creative activities.

  • 17:00 - 17:10: Technical break while the lighting is changed.

  • 17:10 - 20:00: The full horror atmosphere begins, with special lighting effects and Halloween soundscapes.

  • 20:00 - 22:00: The shelter will be completely dark, with sound effects at their highest intensity. This final session is intended for visitors looking for a more frightening experience.

Groups of 30 to 50 people will enter the shelter at a time.

Outdoor attractions are free. Entry to the shelter is based on a voluntary donation towards its upkeep. There will also be a merchandise stand, with proceeds supporting the association's work.

Where: Schron Pasjonatów Podziemi, ul. Kościelna 50, Poznań
Time: 14:00 - 22:00
Entry: Voluntary donation for shelter access, outdoor attractions are free.

Halloween at Młyńska 12: R&B party

For those looking to spend Halloween on the dancefloor, Młyńska 12 is hosting an evening dedicated to R&B classics and contemporary favourites.

Taking place in the Młyńska 12 courtyard, R&B Sensation promises a soundtrack featuring artists including Michael Jackson, Usher, Beyoncé, Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, Destiny's Child, Ginuwine, TLC and Whitney Houston.

The programme is set to include live performances and dance shows, alongside smooth R&B and slow jams. The organisers are encouraging guests to dress up for the occasion, with an emphasis on style and atmosphere.

It is an option for anyone who would rather swap traditional Halloween costumes and haunted attractions for a late-night party built around familiar R&B favourites.

Where: Młyńska 12, ul. Młyńska 12, Poznań
Time: from 23:00
Entry: From PLN 72.

Ticket availability and any changes to the programme should be checked through the official event page before attending.

Punk, heavy and grunge at Klub Miasto

Halloween weekend also brings a dose of live guitar music to Klub Miasto.

The Punk-Heavy-Grunge concert brings together three acts with different approaches to alternative music. Druides combine post-punk, grunge and hard rock, while Poznań-based Budynek C draw on rapcore and punk. Nita i Przyjaciele complete the line-up with a genre-blending sound and a sense of humour.

For those who prefer live music to themed club nights, it offers an alternative way to spend the evening.

Where: Klub Miasto, ul. Szewska 20, Poznań
Time: 18:30
Tickets: PLN 45.

Halloween Film Screenings Across Poznań

Not every Halloween plan needs to involve dressing up or staying out until the early hours.

Several Poznań cinemas are holding special Halloween screenings and horror film marathons, making the cinema a good option for anyone looking to spend the evening with a few classic scares.

Among the venues worth checking are:

  • Kino Muza

  • Helios

  • Kino Apollo

  • Kino Pałacowe

Individual cinema programmes, screening times and ticket availability vary, so it is worth checking each venue's official listings for the latest information.

Something Different: Explore the Underground of Fort VI

If you are looking for an autumn activity away from the usual Halloween parties, Fort VI offers a fascinating opportunity to discover one of Poznań's historic fortifications.

The fort is regarded as one of the best-preserved examples of the city's original fortifications, retaining distinctive features including a 56-tonne armoured observation post.

Visitors can explore the barracks exhibition independently before joining a guided walk through the underground passages. The experience includes the former powder magazine, historic military installations, more than half a kilometre of underground corridors and a walk through the fort's dry moat.

There is also plenty to discover in the exhibition rooms, which cover subjects ranging from military history and old machinery to traditional household equipment, historic trades, model railways and an old carpentry workshop.

The visit is organised in two-hour sessions, with guided underground tours running from 12:00 - 14:00 and 15:00 - 17:00. The fort and exhibitions are also open for independent exploration between 12:00 and 17:00.

Where: Fort VI, Poznań
Visiting hours: 12:00 - 17:00
Entry: PLN 25 for adults and PLN 20 for children, payable on site. No advance booking required.

Although not specifically a Halloween event, the underground corridors and historic military architecture make this an interesting addition to an autumn weekend in Poznań.

A Quieter Evening: Koncert w Ciemności

For something more atmospheric, Osiedlowy Dom Kultury Pod Lipami and Fundacja Bilingwo are organising Koncert w Ciemności (Concert in Darkness) as part of the Kultura na Fyrtlach project.

The performance takes place in subdued lighting, encouraging audiences to concentrate on the music and experience familiar compositions in a different setting.

The programme includes works by Chopin, Debussy, Sibelius and Yiruma, alongside well-known pieces such as Por una cabeza, Hallelujah, Ave Maria and L.O.V.E. Ukrainian melodies and compositions inspired by love, longing and the natural world will also feature.

The organisers describe the event as an opportunity to experience music through sound and atmosphere, away from the usual distractions of a concert setting.

Admission is free, although complimentary tickets must be collected from the ODK Pod Lipami office. Seats can also be reserved by telephone.

Where: Osiedlowy Dom Kultury Pod Lipami, Poznań
Time: 15:00

Planning Halloween Weekend in Poznań

With Halloween falling on a Saturday, there is plenty of scope to combine different activities across the weekend.

Families may want to visit Schron Pasjonatów Podziemi during the earlier, fully lit session, while those looking for a more intense experience can arrive after dark. Music fans have a choice between the R&B party at Młyńska 12 and the live alternative line-up at Klub Miasto.

For a slower-paced autumn outing, Fort VI offers a glimpse into Poznań's military history, while the city's cinemas provide an opportunity to settle in for a horror film.

As always, check official event listings before travelling, particularly for ticketed events, as availability and programme details may change.
