Discover the Warta River kayak trips from Poznań to Czerwonak this summer. Enjoy a scenic 10 km paddle, riverside bonfire and one of the region’s best outdoor adventures.
Looking for an active way to enjoy summer in and around Poznań? The popular Warta River kayak trips are returning for the 2026 season, offering residents and visitors the chance to experience the city’s longest river from an entirely different perspective.
Running every other Saturday throughout the summer, the organised paddling trips follow a picturesque 10-kilometre stretch of the River Warta from central Poznań to AKWEN Marina Czerwonak. Combining gentle exercise, riverside scenery and a relaxed social atmosphere, the excursions have become a favourite seasonal activity for families, friends and anyone keen to spend time outdoors.
Whether you are an experienced paddler or trying kayaking for the first time, the route is designed to provide an enjoyable introduction to one of Greater Poland’s most scenic waterways.
Discover the River Warta from the Water
The River Warta has shaped the history and development of Poznań for centuries, yet many people experience it only from its riverbanks or bridges. These organised kayak trips offer a fresh perspective, allowing participants to appreciate the city’s green spaces, wildlife and riverside landscapes while gently travelling downstream.
The journey begins near Poznań Cathedral on Ostrów Tumski, one of the city’s most historic locations, before following the river north towards Czerwonak.
The destination is AKWEN Marina Czerwonak, where participants can relax after completing the paddle and enjoy the welcoming marina atmosphere.
The route covers approximately 10 kilometres and usually takes around 90 minutes to complete. As the trip follows a continuous downstream section of the river, there are no planned stops along the way.
A Relaxed Outdoor Experience
Unlike competitive kayaking events, these excursions focus on recreation and enjoying nature.
Each booking includes the use of a two-person kayak, complete with buoyancy aids for both participants. Safety is supported throughout the journey by an experienced lifeguard, and all participants are covered by accident insurance.
After arriving at the marina, organisers continue the social aspect of the event by providing access to a communal bonfire area. Firewood and roasting sticks are supplied, allowing participants to enjoy a relaxed riverside gathering after their paddle.
Guests wishing to make use of the bonfire are encouraged to bring their own food to cook over the fire.
Return transport from Czerwonak to Poznań is not included and should be arranged independently.

Important Information for Participants
Organisers have advised that construction work is currently taking place along sections of the River Warta.
Projects include the construction of a new pedestrian and cycle bridge in Czerwonak, as well as bridge works within Poznań. These engineering projects may affect the organisation of individual trips or require minor adjustments to the planned route.
As with any outdoor activity, weather and river conditions remain important considerations. Kayak trips may be cancelled in the event of severe weather, unusually high or low water levels, or other circumstances beyond the organisers’ control.

Why It Matters
Outdoor recreation continues to play an increasingly important role in Poznań’s summer events calendar, and the Warta River remains one of the city’s greatest natural assets.
Kayaking provides an accessible way for residents and visitors alike to engage with the river while promoting active lifestyles and sustainable tourism. It also encourages people to explore areas beyond the city centre, strengthening connections between Poznań and neighbouring communities such as Czerwonak.
For international visitors, the trip offers an opportunity to experience a quieter side of the city that is often overlooked by traditional sightseeing itineraries. Floating past riverside greenery, historic landmarks and developing waterfront areas reveals a different perspective on Poznań’s relationship with the Warta.
With affordable pricing, professional supervision and a welcoming atmosphere, these organised excursions provide an enjoyable introduction to kayaking while making the river more accessible to a wider audience.
