From locally inspired Polish flavours and Hungarian lángos to indulgent pancakes and beautifully prepared eggs, BreakfastWeek invites Poznań to rediscover the pleasure of eating breakfast out.
Breakfast can be a quick coffee before work, a slice of toast grabbed on the way out or, when time allows, a leisurely meal worth sitting down for. BreakfastWeek is encouraging people in Poznań to choose the latter.
Running until 25th November, the festival brings together restaurants and cafés across the city, each presenting specially created breakfast dishes alongside coffee prepared with plant-based drinks. It is an opportunity to try somewhere new, revisit a familiar favourite and give the morning a little more attention.
With a set price of PLN 35 per person, plus a reservation fee of PLN 9.99 per guest (minimum booking of two guests), the festival offers a selection of specially prepared breakfast experiences at participating venues.
Below are five Poznań addresses particularly worth checking out.
Five Poznań breakfast spots to discover
Nadzieja: A taste of Wielkopolska with a contemporary twist
Located in the historic Concordia building at Zwierzyniecka 3/1, Nadzieja has built its culinary identity around regional ingredients and a modern interpretation of Polish food.
For the festival, the restaurant is bringing local producers and traditional flavours into the breakfast setting. Organic ingredients, smoked cottage cheese from an artisan dairy in Wytomyśl and bread baked in-house form the foundation of its festival menu.
The restaurant's philosophy is perhaps best captured in the words of its founders:
"Breakfasts deeply rooted in Wielkopolska tell a story that travels from the field, orchard and small farm all the way to the table in the centre of Poznań, showcasing Polish flavours with a sense of nostalgia without turning them into a museum exhibit."
There are two distinctive dishes to choose from. The sweet option combines buttery brioche with caramelised Polish pear, smoked local cheese, buckwheat honey and a hint of chilli. Those preferring something savoury can opt for fluffy focaccia topped with creamy scrambled eggs, marinated oyster mushrooms and shallots.
It is a particularly appealing choice for anyone interested in discovering how regional Wielkopolska ingredients can be presented in a fresh, contemporary way.

GRONO Bistro i Wino: Hungarian inspiration for breakfast
Poznań has a well-established appreciation for relaxed bistro dining, and GRONO Bistro i Wino brings that easy-going approach to its BreakfastWeek menu.
Operating since 2021, GRONO is known for its informal atmosphere and food designed to be enjoyed together. Under the direction of Chef Bohdan Denshchyk, the restaurant has chosen Hungarian lángos (fried flatbreads) as the inspiration for its special offering.
The result is two contrasting interpretations of this popular fried dough speciality.
The savoury version features crispy lángos topped with egg and bacon, accompanied by refreshing tomato salsa, fresh coriander, a touch of chilli and Grana Padano cheese.
For those who prefer a sweeter start, the alternative combines golden lángos with creamy peanut butter, a tropical mango and coconut yoghurt sauce, flaked almonds and crunchy crumble.
Both options offer a welcome change from the usual breakfast staples. The restaurant is located at Święty Marcin 49.

Ptasie Radio: A familiar Poznań favourite
Situated at Kościuszki 74/3, Ptasie Radio has been part of Poznań's restaurant scene for more than two decades.
Its welcoming atmosphere, rustic interiors and combination of traditional dishes with creative touches have made it a familiar address for local diners.
For BreakfastWeek, the kitchen has prepared two options built around contrasting flavours and textures.
The savoury choice is a freshly baked bagel topped with two soft poached eggs, crispy bacon and a smooth hollandaise sauce.
Alternatively, the sweet menu features delicate pancakes filled with whipped feta cheese, served with cherries in syrup and a crunchy topping of toasted nuts.
Whether you are a regular visitor or have yet to discover this long-standing Poznań establishment, the festival provides a good reason to stop by.

Słodko Słona Café: Sweet and savoury in the Old Town
At Wodna 24, close to the heart of Poznań's Old Town, Słodko Słona Café offers a more intimate setting for a leisurely breakfast.
Established in 2022, the café has developed its identity around sweet treats and unexpected flavour combinations. Its BreakfastWeek menu continues in that direction, with two dishes that take different approaches to comfort food.
Menu A features a hot, crispy toast filled with tender chicken, melted cheese and grilled vegetables, finished with fresh salad.
The vegetarian Menu B takes inspiration from autumn ingredients. Eggs are served on smooth homemade labneh, accompanied by buttery chanterelle mushrooms, roasted cherry tomatoes and burnt butter with crispy chilli. Pine nut and pistachio dukkah and Maldon sea salt complete the dish.
The latter is particularly suited to anyone looking for something a little different from a conventional egg-based breakfast.

Tętno: Creative pancakes on Półwiejska
The final stop on our list is Tętno at Półwiejska 20, a restaurant that opened in 2024 under chef Oleksandr.
Known for giving familiar flavours an individual interpretation, Tętno has brought that same creative approach to its BreakfastWeek menu.
Its two offerings revolve around pancakes, but neither is quite what you might expect.
The savoury option features golden cottage cheese and potato pancakes covered in a smooth cheddar sauce, finished with Parmesan and a refreshing touch of green olive.
For something sweeter, the restaurant offers fluffy cheesecake-style pancakes with a rich nut butter cream, salted caramel topping and crunchy Lotus biscuit crumble.
Both dishes demonstrate how a familiar breakfast favourite can become something rather more elaborate.
