Change Lives with Your Tax Donation!

Polish taxpayers have a unique opportunity to make a real difference in their communities through the 1.5% tax donation system. This initiative allows individuals to support local charities and public benefit organizations (PBOs) without any additional cost. By redirecting a small portion of their income tax, they can help fund crucial social projects, aid people in need, and strengthen their local communities. One organization that greatly benefits from this system is Fundacja Amicis, a foundation dedicated to providing assistance to vulnerable individuals in Greater Poland.

How the 1.5% Tax Donation Works

The 1.5% tax donation system in Poland enables taxpayers to allocate a percentage of their income tax to a chosen non-profit organization. This process is simple: when filing an annual tax return, individuals enter the National Court Register (KRS) number of their selected charity. Importantly, this donation does not cost the taxpayer anything extra—it is a portion of the tax that would otherwise go to the state.

This system has proven to be a powerful tool for funding social initiatives. In 2022, more than 1.1 billion złotys were donated to various PBOs, supporting causes such as healthcare, education, animal welfare, and community development. By choosing where this money goes, taxpayers have direct control over how their contributions impact society.

Fundacja Amicis Helping Those in Need

Founded in 2005 in Wronki, Fundacja Amicis has been actively working to support the most vulnerable members of society. The foundation’s mission is to help children, the elderly, the sick, the homeless, and individuals struggling with addictions. Their work is deeply rooted in community values, and they rely on volunteer efforts to keep administrative costs low, ensuring that almost 100% of donations go directly to those in need.

A Tradition of Giving

One of the most cherished initiatives of Fundacja Amicis is Dar Serca (Gift from the Heart), an annual charity event held before Christmas. In 2023, the campaign provided:

  • 470 food packages filled with holiday treats and essentials
  • 400 meat packages for families in Wronki and Poznań
  • 250 gifts containing toys and sweets for children from low-income households

The highlight of the event was the Santa Claus convoy, organized by OSP Amica, which delivered packages while creating a magical holiday atmosphere.

Gift from the Heart is more than just donations. It is a symbol of solidarity and support, a reminder that no one is forgotten. Thanks to our donors and volunteers, we can bring joy and hope to families facing difficult times.

explains Małgorzata Rutkowska, president of Fundacja Amicis.

Charitable Giving Through Sports

Fundacja Amicis also promotes charitable giving through sports. The Amica Group Sports Challenge combines physical activity with fundraising. Employees and supporters collectively covered thousands of kilometers, converting each step into financial aid. In 2023, the challenge raised 87,000 złotys, which funded:

  • Chemotherapy chairs for the University Clinical Hospital in Poznań
  • Gym equipment for the Special Schools Complex in Kowanówko
  • Videolaryngoscopes for SPZOZ in Międzychód
  • Support for Folkekøkkenet Kolding, a shelter in Denmark associated with Amica’s GRAM subsidiary

This initiative highlights how sports can unite communities while making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Other Organizations in Greater Poland Eligible for a Tax Donation

While Fundacja Amicis is a fantastic option, there are many other organizations in Greater Poland that rely on the 1.5% tax donation. Here are six more that deserve attention:

  1. Krok za Krokiem (Step by Step) Foundation – Provides rehabilitation and support for people with disabilities.
  2. Poznań Amazon Society – Helps women affected by breast cancer through education and advocacy.
  3. Association of Friends of the Blind and Visually Impaired – Offers resources and support to visually impaired individuals.
  4. Bliżej Gwiazd (Closer to Stars) Foundation – Promotes arts and cultural education in local communities.
  5. Ja Pacze Sercem (I See with Heart) Foundation – Supports blind cats by providing food, medical care, and adoption services.
  6. Magovox Foundation – Partners with various charitable projects, including those led by Amicis.

By choosing one of these organizations, taxpayers can ensure that their 1.5% tax donation is used to improve lives in their region.

How to Donate Your 1.5% Tax

Making a tax donation to a public benefit organization is simple:

  1. Choose an organization – Look for a PBO with a mission that resonates with you.
  2. Find their KRS number – For Fundacja Amicis, the number is 0000228508.
  3. Enter the details in your tax return – Provide the KRS number when filling out your PIT form.
  4. Specify the purpose (optional) – Some tax forms allow donors to direct their funds toward a specific initiative.
  5. Submit your tax return – Ensure everything is correct and send your return before the deadline.

For those using the Twój e-PIT system, the previously chosen organization will automatically appear, but taxpayers can update their selection at any time.
