Poznań Hairdressers Take Home World Championship Medals

Three hairdressers from Poznań have earned international recognition after winning medals at the OMC Hairworld World Championships in Paris. Pola Przygoda, Julia Staszek and Justyna Sas-Kamińska secured silver in the team competition, with Sas-Kamińska also claiming an individual bronze medal.

Competing in the Rising Star Award category, the trio finished second in the team standings, earning the title of world runners-up. Their achievement puts Poznań's hairdressing talent firmly on the international stage.

All three competitors are associated with the Zespół Szkół Odzieżowych in Poznań, a school specialising in clothing, hairstyling and related vocational skills.

Success at an international competition of this kind requires technical ability, precision and creative skill. For young professionals developing their careers in hairdressing, competing against talented stylists from other countries also provides an opportunity to demonstrate their work beyond the classroom.

A strong connection to Poznań's vocational education

The results are particularly significant for the local school community. Przygoda is currently a student at Zespół Szkół Odzieżowych, while Staszek and Sas-Kamińska are graduates of the same institution.

Their achievements highlight the opportunities available through vocational education, where practical training can provide a foundation for professional development and international competition.

The school also has a direct role in preparing competitors for this level of performance. The three hairdressers trained for the championships under Izabela Bogucka, a hairdressing teacher and trainer.

Their medals offer a proud moment for the school, their trainer and the wider Poznań community, while providing an encouraging example for students considering careers in the creative and personal care industries.
