If you have been looking for an excuse to try somewhere new in Poznań this autumn, there are plenty of opportunities coming up.
RestaurantWeek is already on the calendar, following our earlier look at this season's participating restaurants. Now there is another reason to make a booking: BreakfastWeek also returns from 7 October to 25 November, bringing special breakfast menus to cafés and restaurants around the city.
Rather than going over the RestaurantWeek line-up again, this time we are looking towards the morning.
Breakfast is getting its own festival
BreakfastWeek brings together restaurants and cafés with specially prepared breakfast menus, accompanied by coffee made with Alpro Barista plant-based drink.
Reservations start from PLN 35, plus a PLN 9.99 reservation fee per guest. Bookings require a minimum of two people, while a limited number of reservations can also benefit from a PLN 10 Visa discount.
The idea is simple enough: choose a place, invite someone along and give yourself a reason not to rush through breakfast.
For Poznań, that means a particularly broad choice of places to explore.
From Jeżyce to the city centre
The participating Poznań venues include a mixture of established restaurants, independent cafés and newer food spots.
On Jeżyce, you will find places including SiSi Food & Friends, Tygryz and Mówish Mash, while the city centre has Tętno, Fajrant, Ptasie Radio, Grono and others taking part.
There are also festival breakfasts at Affina near Park Wilsona, Dżungla Cafe on Głogowska, Cafe Młyńska, Lavenda Food&Cake, Najadalnia and Słodko Słona Café.
The selection ranges from specialty coffee and pastries to more substantial breakfasts, seasonal ingredients and contemporary takes on familiar dishes.
For anyone who has spent the past few years building up a personal list of Poznań cafés to try, this is a useful opportunity to start working through it.
RestaurantWeek can take care of the evening
BreakfastWeek is running alongside RestaurantWeek, so the two festivals offer rather different reasons to go out.
RestaurantWeek gives diners the chance to explore special menus at restaurants across Poznań, while BreakfastWeek shifts the focus to the first meal of the day.
And you do not necessarily have to choose just one.
A breakfast booking could become a weekend morning around Jeżyce or the city centre, while RestaurantWeek provides an excuse to explore another restaurant later in the festival period.

There is another project coming up at Poznan Magazine, and it is not limited to food.
We are preparing a competition inviting people to share their genuine stories about life in Poznań.
