Cultural Oasis by the River
The summer agenda along the Warta River is brimming with cultural treats. KontenerART and Garden Szeląg have already opened their doors, offering art activities and a lively atmosphere. Planned festivities include the “Solo na Szelągu” concert series and the “No water No art” project, adding artistic flair to riverside leisure.
Nature’s Playground
Nature enthusiasts can revel in the Warta Valley’s rich ecosystem. The Berdychowskie Bridges project nears completion, linking Old Town with Ostrow Tumski and expanding access to Maltese attractions. A newly established nature trail spans from Brama Poznania, following the Cybina and Wartostrada, featuring 12 marked stops highlighting ecological insights and local wildlife.
Preserving the Riverside Charm
Beyond its recreational offerings, the Warta River holds a significant place in Poznań’s history and ecology. Originating in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, it flows 795 kilometres through Poland, shaping landscapes and sustaining biodiversity. Did you know that the Warta is the third longest river in Poland, flowing through major cities like Wrocław and Warsaw before merging with the Odra River?
As summer unfolds, Poznań allocates resources to maintain the Warta’s cleanliness, deploying 135 large waste bins and 16 concrete ashtrays along its banks. Regular monitoring and cleanup efforts ensure a pristine environment for all to enjoy. However, residents and visitors alike play a crucial role in keeping the riverfront tidy, with penalties for littering reaching up to 500 PLN.
