Poznań will host the national celebrations for World Heart Day on Sunday, 20 September, bringing free health checks, medical consultations, family activities and live entertainment to Plac PWK at the Poznań International Fair (MTP).
Running from 11:00 to 18:00, the event aims to encourage residents and visitors to take a closer look at cardiovascular health while enjoying a day out in the city.
From 11:00, health zones will offer free blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol checks, alongside short consultations with cardiologists and dietitians. The stage programme begins at noon.
The day will combine health education with activities aimed at different age groups. The programme includes talks from medical, cultural and media figures, workshops and educational games for children, sporting activities, a group Zumba session and competitions with prizes.
There will also be live entertainment, including a performance by Poznań-based cabaret group Czesuaf. The event will finish with a free concert by Oskar Cyms and his band.
The organisers say the event aims to promote healthy lifestyles and raise awareness of cardiovascular disease prevention, including the importance of developing healthy habits from an early age.
For people in Poznań, it is a convenient opportunity to combine a few simple health checks with an afternoon of family activities and entertainment, all without an entrance fee.
