Poznań is full of stories.
You can find them in our neighbourhoods, schools, cultural institutions, sports clubs, charities, independent businesses, and community organisations. They live in the work of volunteers, the ideas of young people, the achievements of local researchers, and the everyday efforts of residents who help make the city what it is.
Now we want to hear your story.
Poznań Magazine is inviting readers, residents, organisations, community groups, businesses and others to share genuine local stories connected with Poznań.
And there is a prize.
Two of the best eligible stories will each win a RestaurantWeek® voucher for two people.
Entry is completely free.
How to enter
Entering is simple.
Submit your genuine Poznań story to Poznań Magazine through the magazine.ad submission platform.
At the very end of your submitted article, add this sentence:
This story is a submission for the Your Poznań Story Matters Competition.
That's it.
The sentence allows our editorial team to identify competition entries within our submission system. If your story is accepted for publication, we will remove the sentence during the editing process.
You do not need to purchase an Early Adopter plan or any other paid service to enter.

What kind of stories are we looking for?
Your story does not have to be a major announcement.
We are interested in genuine stories connected to Poznań that would be relevant or interesting to our readers.
Perhaps something is happening in your neighbourhood that deserves more attention. Maybe you are involved with a community organisation doing interesting work, know about an inspiring school project or have discovered an independent business that deserves to be better known.
Your story could be about:
A community initiative making a difference locally
A school project or educational achievement
A charity or community organisation
An independent business or interesting local opening
A festival, exhibition or cultural event
A sports club or local sporting achievement
Local research, history, science or innovation
An environmental or sustainability project
An interesting development in a Poznań neighbourhood
An initiative involving Poznań's international community
An unusual or lesser-known story about life in Poznań
These are only examples. If you think your story helps tell us something interesting about Poznań, we want to hear it.
Why are we doing this?
It is easy to feel that the news is dominated by problems.
Wars, political disagreements, economic uncertainty, crime and international crises understandably receive considerable attention. These are important subjects, and responsible journalism should not ignore them.
But they are not the whole story.
Every day, people across Poznań are organising events, helping their neighbours, supporting charities, opening businesses, creating art, teaching children, researching new ideas and building stronger communities.
Those stories matter too.
Positive local journalism is not about pretending that everything is perfect or ignoring what’s happening in the world. It is about providing a fuller picture of the place we live in.
For international residents, local stories can also be a valuable way of understanding their new home. A story about a neighbourhood initiative, a local festival, a Polish organisation or an interesting local project can provide context and help people feel more connected to Poznań.
For visitors, these stories may offer something different from a conventional tourist guide. They introduce the people, ideas and communities that make the city what it is.
What makes a good story?
There is no single formula.
A strong entry might introduce readers to people doing something worthwhile, explain an interesting local project or highlight something happening in Poznań that deserves to be better known.
Before submitting, consider:
What is happening?
Where in Poznań is it happening?
Who is involved?
Why does it matter?
What can readers learn from it?
What makes the story interesting or unusual?
Please provide accurate information and, where appropriate, supporting details such as dates, locations, names, photographs or links to relevant organisations.
How will the winners be chosen?
The two winning stories will be selected by the Poznań Magazine editorial team.
Entries will be considered based on factors including:
Local relevance to Poznań
Quality of storytelling
Interest and usefulness to our readers
Originality and the perspective offered by the story
The overall suitability of the story for Poznań Magazine
This is an editorially judged competition. It is not decided by social-media likes, shares or public votes.
All entries must meet our editorial and legal standards.
Submitting a story does not guarantee publication or a prize, and submitting multiple stories is permitted; however, each story is judged individually, thus multiple entries do not guarantee a win.
The prize
There will be two winning stories.
Each winner will receive:
A RestaurantWeek® voucher for two people
The voucher will allow the winning entrant and one guest to enjoy a RestaurantWeek® outing, subject to the terms and conditions of the voucher and the RestaurantWeek® programme.
The prizes are being provided to Poznań Magazine by RestaurantWeek® for use in this competition.
Who can take part?
The Competition is open to people aged 18 and over who submit a genuine story connected with Poznań and meet the requirements in the Competition Terms & Conditions.
You do not have to be a permanent resident of Poznań to enter. What matters is that your story has a genuine connection to the city.

You do not have to pay to enter the Your Poznań Story Matters Competition.
Creating an account on magazine.ad is free, and submitting a genuine local story for editorial consideration is free.
You do not need to purchase an Early Adopter plan.
The Early Adopter service provides separate benefits, such as priority editorial handling and access to the Firefly Magazines network. Purchasing it does not guarantee publication, editorial approval or selection as a Competition winner.
The same editorial standards apply to all competition entries.
What happens after you submit?
Once your story has been submitted, our editorial team will review it.
We may:
accept the story for publication;
request additional information;
suggest or make editorial changes;
determine that the story is not suitable for publication; or
decline the submission.
Nothing is published automatically.
If your story is accepted, it may be edited for accuracy, clarity, grammar, length and Poznań Magazine's editorial style.
The competition sentence you added at the end of your submission will be removed before publication.
How will we contact the winners?
The two winners will be contacted by email using the email address associated with their magazine.ad account.
Winners will have 7 calendar days to respond.
If a selected winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within the specified period, the Organiser may select an alternative winner in accordance with the Competition Terms & Conditions.
We will never ask a winner to pay a fee to receive the prize.
