A legend is coming back to life for one unforgettable night! On July 19, 2025, the Castle Courtyard at Centrum Kultury ZAMEK in Poznań will pulse with strobing lights, pounding bass, and pure 90s euphoria. “Ekwador Forever” is a revival of one of Poland’s most legendary techno clubs. It’s a tribute to Klub Ekwador Manieczki, a place that once stood at the heart of the Polish rave scene that defined an entire generation of clubbers.
Ekwador Forever – More Than Just a Party
Organised as part of the ongoing exhibition Najntisy Forever! Popkultura w Polsce lat 90. (Nineties Forever! Pop Culture in Poland During the 1990s), “Ekwador Forever” is a night designed to bring the iconic sounds and energy of Klub Ekwador back to life. The courtyard of CK ZAMEK in Poznań will transform into a vibrant open-air dancefloor — an homage to the golden age of Polish club culture.
The event is built in collaboration with the original Ekwador community — DJs, promoters, and die-hard fans — who are ready to deliver a night that feels just like it used to: loud, wild, and unforgettable.
Taking the stage are four key figures of the Ekwador era:
- DJ QUIZ
- DJ CYPREX
- DR JENDRUL
- DJ YUMAX
These artists helped shape the sonic landscape of Ekwador in its heyday, and their sets on July 19 will transport the audience straight back to the legendary nights in Manieczki.

A Cultural Phenomenon Born in a Village
To understand why “Ekwador Forever” matters, you need to know the story behind it.
The original Klub Ekwador was founded in 1998 in the village of Manieczki, about 40 kilometres south of Poznań. Housed in a former socialist-era shopping complex, the venue seemed like an unlikely place for what would become the epicentre of Poland’s electronic music explosion. Yet within a few years, Ekwador was attracting thousands of ravers from across the country — many of whom travelled hundreds of kilometres every weekend just to be there.
The name “Ekwador” was inspired by DJ Sasha’s trance hit Ecuador, and the club quickly became known for its massive parties, resident DJs like DJ Kris, and its dedication to the evolving sounds of trance, techno, and eurodance. Its signature logo — a stylised “E” in a circle — began appearing on cars and jackets across Poland.

From Underground Culture to National Stage
What made Ekwador different was not just the music, but the atmosphere. It was the kind of place where strangers became family, where people returned every week not just for the sound, but for the connection. Events were more than parties — they were gatherings of a tight-knit, ever-expanding community.
The club’s reach extended far beyond Manieczki. Ekwador was present at Berlin’s Love Parade and Łódź’s Freedom Parade, and even launched a summer offshoot in Mielno, bringing the full experience — lights, sound systems, and décor — to the seaside. Their most ambitious events drew thousands to Poznań’s Arena or the Malta lake area, with buses running from all over Poland.
For a time, Klub Ekwador defined what it meant to rave in Poland. It was a touchstone for the country’s evolving youth culture, a symbol of freedom and post-Communist transformation.
The Rise, Fall, and Echoes of Ekwador
Like many icons, Ekwador faced its share of challenges. From local resistance in the village to increased police scrutiny and eventually a brief change in ownership, the club’s future often hung in the balance. In 2006, the venue was leased out and temporarily lost the right to use its name. The spirit, however, never died. Loyal fans kept the flame alive — travelling, organising, and documenting the story of what they called their “family.”
There were periods of silence, moments of uncertainty, and finally, the rumour that the building itself might be sold. Yet the community rallied. DJs, former regulars, and even new generations of fans continued to keep the Ekwador name alive through anniversary events, playlists, and pop-up parties across Poland.
“Ekwador Forever” is a natural continuation of that legacy — a way to bring together old friends, welcome new ones, and honour a cultural movement that changed lives.

A Night to Remember
July 19 will be more than just another party. It will be a reawakening. The sounds, visuals, and emotions of Ekwador’s golden era will return to the spotlight — this time in the heart of Poznań. For those who were there in the 2000s, it’s a chance to relive their youth. For those who never made it to Manieczki, it’s a rare opportunity to feel what it was all about.
Whether you remember the glowsticks, the afterparties at BP in Śrem, or the 400-kilometre round trips just to dance until dawn — or you’re discovering the legend for the first time — “Ekwador Forever” invites you to join the family, just as it always did.
